the year of 2011 was an eventful one for me! so much happened within the short span of 1 year but i guessed i still managed to keep up with the pace of life. So all is well

Bali

the trip to Bali in 2011 probably made it to the top 3 of the most important milestones in my life!

other than giving me a memorable birthday surprise on the 13th. My dearest proposed on the 14th with fireworks by the beach <3

in the same year,
our dear friends got married in Jan!

being able to be part of the wedding itself was so much fun. Company my dear girl while she selects her gowns for her big day, being the Emcee for the banquet and not forgetting the gate-crash on their wedding day. Thanks to them, we had a night's stay at Hyatt and Banyan Tree in Bali :)

Baby and I had one of the most amazing holidays together at

our time in Perth.

the short 1 week was too brief to see the beauty of the city and the towns of Margaret River and Augusta. i have been thinking about the beautiful sunsets and sunrise, the self-drives and fresh seafood even when im back in sg. most importantly, we spent lots of quality time together and made many memorable moments that adds on to our travelogue together <3

on one of the weekends, we went on a short getaway to

Batam, Turi Beach Resort.

the resort offered good views of the sea and it was a relaxing retreat from our busy daily lives. we took the hotel's recommendations for seafood nearby and it was so good and cheap! the BBQ buffet dinner was enjoyable as well and had a massage to end our night there!

Moving on to a new job

sometime in the end of August, i left my first job as a Marketing Exec and took on a new job with the bank.

i have not looked back since because this new chance taught me a great deal within the short span of 4 months! along with the benefits of working in a bank, there are alot more responsibilities and stress i have to handle. and perhaps due to that, i lost about 2.5kg ( hopefully thats a good thing!)

i fell sick

in late september, i was fretting almost everyday of the possibility that i might have cancer because of an unusual growth on my body. i felt terrible everyday because i was worried and the growth gave me alot of pain everyday.the doctor did not sound comforting because of my family history of cancer and quickly referred me to a specialist for an ultrasound.

to be honest, waiting to have the scan done was like hell to me. its like waiting for a verdict that might change your life entirely. but god bless, the specialist confirmed i was clear of cancer, but instead, it was a severe infection resulting to the growth. i was given a date for a full anesthesia surgery to remove it while i was on antibiotics. unfortunately, i fell really sick after i started the antibiotics and had to skip the surgery. in the end i managed to escape the surgery because i was responding surprisingly well to the antibiotics but that also means having the risk of a relapse in future.

We bought our house

hopefully the place would be ready before Nov 2014. this 3 years would be tough for us because we gotta save for renovations and furniture in time to come! shall not compare with other projects or whine about the new BTO in clementi anymore!

baby, im looking forward to living together with you! :)

Yearly Girls Getaway

this year, our getaway was at Wangz Hotel where we chill and watch DVD in the room, had yummy Italian food at Etna Italian Restaurant

so thankful of this bunch of girls in my life <3

Bangkok for countdown

this time round we went in a large group with Mum, Bro, Sis, Baby and Eunice! lots and lots of shopping, street food and sumptuous chinese dinner, massage and countdown at Baiyoke Sky overlooking the skies filled with fireworks.

i love times when i see mummy smile when she got a cheap deal or when she is enjoying her A&W root beer eating her waffle! i love seeing bro and baby having some brother time together! though i would much prefer my last trip with my sis where we shopped alot more and the weather was so AWESOME!

i wish 2012 would be a better one for me :)

wish Grandpa good health and i wish very everyone around me to be happy and healthy

our biggest step

26 November 2011. that's the day we took the biggest step of our lives and bought our house together. we went through so much discussions together and talked so much with our parents, evaluating all the pros and cons and working out our finances, i cant be happier that we have made this decision together :)

buying an EC was the last thing on our mind and to be honest, BLOSSOM RESIDENCES wasnt the most ideal place to live in. but i guess, that was the best we could think of at the moment and what matters is that both of us are happy and looking forward to it.

its wasnt an impluse decision. well, all my life, the only place i want to live in was Clementi. it doesnt matter whether its a BTO, resale, DBSS and i never thought we could afford a EC. but we were so unlucky :(

our first application for a flat was the sales of balance flats in Clementi where we got a terrible no. and gave up. then our 2nd application at Trivelis @ Clementi didnt turn out very well too. we could have gotten a unit at the DBSS, but at the back of our minds, we knew our chances of getting the 5room there were slim because there were only 148 units. the 4room units were tiny and in my view, wasnt worth the purchase price.

then one fine day, baby came home telling me that with the amount of money we are willing to pay, perhaps we could afford a EC. but that is with the condition that i have to move out of my comfort zone, we cant want to stay in Clementi. we dont think there would be upcoming projects in Clementi area anymore and even if there is, it would fall under SERS which means we might not even get it if our number sucks. he said the conservation fees plus the season parking for his car is comparable to the monthly maintenance of the condo, so why not pay more to enjoy the facilities. the DBSS cost way too much to even make a profit when we sell it 10 years later. the upcoming downtown mrt line which is up and running in 2015 would made the place alot of accessible and hopefully by then our house would be worth more. he actually made sense , alot of sense to me.

and so after all that struggle, we can have something to look forward to in 2014. this whole process of looking for a place to live is so tiring but yet exciting and fun. gotta start saving to make up what we have paid for the 5% option fee and 3% stamp fees :( no travel plans for this year and hopefully the year after. so that my wish to travel and have our wedding photos taken overseas could materialise.

thanks baby for taking such a big step with me and being so selfless when it comes to money issues. you really amazes me at times. and last but not the least, im thankful for my mum and his parents for being so supportive to us. and not forgetting the people who are so genuinely happy for us, i thank you for being so encouraging in whatever i do in my life!

hello october

Im one month into my new job :)

its an different experience and i got to meet different people and learn to deal with them differently. I learnt that it could get political at work and try my best to stay away from that. there are superficial people but work is so busy to even be bothered with such issues, which is a good thing. i like that its more challenging here and i get up-to-date to the what is happening in the market. i like that im always occupied and time passes so quickly and i appreciate my weekends alot more :)

there are definitely downsides to every job. i'm very tired after every weekday and im hardly online or on fb because there is just no more time to do that :( but i guess i'll manage my time better as i get the hang on the job after a couple more months! one more thing, i have to be very careful in everything i do at work and it can be taxing (given that im so slack in my previous job)..just this week and a FRAUD syndicate tried to impersonate our customer to get money from the bank! my RM saved me this time and to be honest, the whole episode scared me totally!

im left with one sunday to enjoy myself before i go back to work..this thought is kinda depressing :(

have applied for a flat this week and we certainly hope to get it..fingers crossed!

happy days in Perth 2

continuing from part 1

Day 4

its our last night at MERRIBROOK and we set our alarms to wake up at 6am in the morning to prepare for a morning walk..we were really excited about our plans the night before, but god knows, it started to pour in the wee hours of the night :( waited for the rain to stop and finally gave up waiting cos it nv got smaller :(

there goes my morning walk! i was so disappointed i couldnt get to see the animals and wildlife leaving in the compound :(

packed our stuff and drove over to the main lodge for breakfast..it was almost 11degrees and i was shivering..had to change in front of the heater and wore double socks..but the moment we stepped into the main lodge, the warmth from the wood fire was so comforting!

this day, the merribrook crew added one of the all-time-favourite muffin, CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFIN to the breakfast list and its mad awesome! my bf loves it, but i only took a few bites because i wanted to eat a little of everything..

and i LOVED my breakfast tt morning because the toasted bread with bacon and melted cheese (below) is just SO DELICIOUS! u might not know, but i love bacon and this is really the BEST!!

she knew that our plans to walk around the place failed because of the rain and told us that we can check out anytime we wanted, i guess she wanted to cheer us up a little..how sweet :)

never thought that we would have a chance to do this, haha..sit by the woodfire during winter, read the magazines and hold his hand while we continue our endless chats :)

there's a variety of snacks you can find there, other than fudge. there are chocolates of many different kinds and they serve coffee too..we bought almost 100 bucks worth of chocolates there but its worth the money..the truffles and pralines were really good!

anyway, i really salute my boy, its so cold and windy yet he can walk ard in his berms! he always so happy because he adores the cold weather while i tend to complain because its really very cold for me..

the tranquil surroundings and friendly owners..but i did felt out of place because he was hosting a wine tasting session for a group of people and they knew so much abt wines..

bought some really expensive homemade nougats and bought 2 bottles of wines, one of which for baby's dad..

THE MARGARET RIVER CHOCOLATE COMPANY

the chocolate co. is kinda like a must-go place when u are in Perth.. we decided to visit the one in Margaret River since we decided to leave Swan River altogether..its pretty big and we got to try the 3 main types of chocolates ; mainly dark choc, milk choc and white choc..

i love white chocs and we bought so much though they werent cheap..

other than chocs, there are fondues, biscuits and beverages..

it was drizzling the after the down pour in the morning..bad weather :( we headed back towards Perth City to meet his cousins thereafter..

Finally settled at Fremantle, Cicerellos for dinner..i remember that night to be freezing cold and the wind near the harbour was sooo strong!

His cousin, Christina met up with us along with her husband Patrick and Claire..Shuyee joined us shortly after as well :) its really nice to meet your family whom u dont get to see for a long time and yet be able to have hearty chats..and Christina is really helpful and nice and keep offering us her place to stay when we are in Perth and gave me ideas when im planning the itinerary..how nice!

the stall owners sells all sought of different things which i believed its cheaper at the market than elsewhere..you can find things like clothes, scarfs hats, accessories, books and gifts, fruits, snacks and nuts, coffee and so much more...a should-go when u are visit Fremantle..

so glad to be with Shu Yee, i missed her so much!

Patrick suggested popping by San Churro for some warm chocolate drink which is really awesome when u are fighting the cold :)

its quite hard to get a seat given our group size of 6..but the wait wasnt too long..

parted shortly after we left San Churro and baby and i dropped Shuyee back at Chengy's place before we headed to Scarborough Rendezvous Observation City Hotel..

we kinda wasted our money given that we check in at 10pm and were goin to check out at 1pm the next day..and furthermore we upgraded the room to one of the most expensive ones because i was in love with the bathroom after looking at the pictures on the website..bad move because the room was a disappointment as well..it was clean and big and a balcony with beautiful views but the bathroom was too different from its pictures! :(

Day 5

Baby managed to wake up earlier to catch the sunrise but i was too lazy and couldnt drag myself up..haha..but he said he took nice pictures for me to see so that i didnt miss out the beautiful sight!

ITS BEAUTIFUL..and he kept telling me that it how the sky slowly lit up and made the beach so beautiful..

preparing to head out for breakfast before we check out..

the breakfast was bad..hmm, it was actually ok if not for the lack of variety and over crowding of hotel guests..i told baby i had to leave after 15mins into my breakfast..thankfully, because we paid for the more expensive rooms, we had access to the plaza club lounge which was exclusive to certain guests..had my tea, fruits and snacks there and enjoyed the second half of my breakfast with much better service..

managed to get a late check-out so that we could relax a little before we start on the visits of the day..

once again, breath taking views of the Scarborough Beach..

check out the swimming pool which look so good to just lie and have a tan..but no way we are goin to do that because its the beginning of winter..left for the beach which was just a road across the hotel..

there are lots of beaches to visit when you are in Perth and i believe all of them are beautiful in their own way..we wanted to go to a relatively quiet beach and Scarborough beach appealed more to us than Cottesloe beach..and indeed we love it..

we spotted surfers there as early as 8am and they are basically in their surf shorts surfing in the cold waters..my goodness.. there were seagulls which i hated but on the whole, it was awesome to sit on the grass hearing the waves and just RELAX..

so happy to be with the love of my life :)

their skies seemed closer to us somehow and on good weather days like these, the skies are really blue! simply gorgeous..

finally eating the pralines and truffles we bought the day before..each of these cost more than 1 AUD which is about SGD$2 but they were really awesome!

and off we go to the city for some shopping..

parked the car near the Bell Towers and took a stroll..behind me is the river that links to the Swan River which covers a really big area..

there are a handful of cafes around which you could easily just chill the afternoon away..

there are also many choices should you wanna take a river cruise..there are tours that take you all the way down to Swan river and winery visits and lunch is included..but the prices arent really cheap..

you can see the Bell Tower from afar because of its tall structure..

the bells are ring at certain times of the day and if you wish, you could pay to go up to see the bells..

my boy has been collecting lots of gold coins on the way as momento..and unlike other destinations where you only find 1 type of gold coins, here he could take home 3 types of coins..he is happy just like that...hahha!!

the swans roamed freely and the colourful parrots are so rare..

next up we went HARBOUR TOWN!!

i have been secretly waiting for this day because i heard so much abt the good deals i can possibly find when im at Harbour Town Factory Outlet..on the other hand, baby is very discouraging and even set me on a 2 hours shopping session because he thinks its a waste of time looking at winter clothing :(

but still i managed to find something for myself :)

we wanted to try out the dimsum at Dragon Palace Chinese Restaurant but unfortunately it was closed and werent serving dim sum in the evening :(

im glad that i met up with Emily for dinner..she is studying over in Perth at the moment and recommended Bellaroma Pizza which was indeed very good..im happy to know that she is settling well and doing well in life too..hope that i can visit her again in the near future :)

went back to Chengy's place to stay for the night and Chengy offered his bed to me and baby again..so NICE!

anyway it was a really really cold night and i think the temperature hovered around 5 degrees in the middle of the night..i woke up because i was too cold and we didnt have a heater in the room..so i had to make a heat pack for myself to hold on and sleep..yes, its that bad and my nose was so cold and numb it was hard to get back to sleep..

Day 6

Christina planned a Champagne Brunch for the cousins to get together and both Christina and Patrick were great hosts! They live in a beautiful house with 2 dogs, Faith and Vader..and Claire's room is so princessy!

there were lots of food and finally i got to get RICE after 6 long days! whats best, rice with sambal chilli! my favourite was the toast bread with raisins and semi-cooked egg in the middle, it was so yummy! the rest loved the BBQ lamb and beef..and Christina prepared a fondue for us for desserts, so thoughtful!

they have their attic made into a Games room..Patrick showed us his collectables - cameras, and we had fun with the transformers mask which changes our voice when we talk into it..haha!

Chengy and Kristine took us to King's Park which is pretty near Chengy's house..its bigger and very well maintained..there are plenty of perfect spots to just lie on the grass and read a book, or grab some food and start a picnic..

Auntie Ladd whipped up a table of food for us on our last night in Perth (: the Thai noodles were good and seeing Shuyee helped Auntie Ladd with the food and all, made me realise how much she have grown..she is so independent now!

took a little nap and then woke up at 3am in the morning to prepare for our flight at 7am..poor Chengy had to wake up with us to take us to the airport..we're so thankful!

we were so tired we slept all the way on the plane..

anyway the breakfast wasnt fantastic so i skipped it and only woke up when there was a case of emergency on the plane..there was quite a big commotion and it was hard to get back to sleep thereafter..

it was such an awesome trip and both of us thoroughly enjoyed it :)

i hope we're goin to back it make some day and also to visit other states like Tasmania, Sydney and Melbourne..there's so much in the world i wanna see and as my boy always tells me, its not always about shopping and buying things, sometimes we should slow down our pace and look at the beautiful scenery and feel the mix of cultures when we go on holidays..

mental notes when we have the chance to re-visit Perth:

1. do not speed

2. spend at least 5 days in Margaret River

3. return to Merribrook and have a BBQ dinner and sauna

4. go to Fremantle in the day

5. spend a day in Swan River

6. visit Caversham wildlife park

im finally moving on and i couldnt feel any happier now..

im bidding goodbye to this company where i've spent two long years with. i've learnt so much and i felt that i grew in alot of ways. taking on NR gave me so many 'first time' and i had so much fun managing the brand. though its a pity that i couldnt see it grow and i personally felt that i could have done alot better, but i think i did my best with whatever i could.

i wanna remember the happier times i had in this workplace and make the effort to maintain the friendship with some of my colleagues who turned into friends. i wanna still meet my dearest girl very often, i think i will miss having her around :( i've been lucky to have known alot more about her and have someone in my life that i can open and yet comfortable with. working somewhere else without her would feel different and i will miss the laughters, the hiding mentos/sweets times, the times we prank on other ppl and the days we go kick-boxing together.

i thought that my next job would be another marketing/PR role in possibly a beauty / fashion / retail industry. it was through NR that i realised my interest and possible potential in this area, and i certainly want to pursue this in my career. there was a point of time in life that i wanted to pursue this career path so badly that i was willing to spend time & money to get a better academic qualification. but we know life isnt always what we want to do or what we want to have, when i sit down with a clear mind to think about my directions in life, spending time with my loved ones still remains the top of my list. i am not certain if i can make sufficient sacrifices to build my career, afterall im not exactly career-minded nor ambitious.

so well, i guess its more realistic to take on a job that gives me the time to spend with my loved ones and has hopeful payouts in good times than to harp on my ideals without knowing if im ever gonna make it. anyway, who knows i might be doing marketing in a bank in future, but that is if passion about marketing doesnt die off after the next 3-5 years. i have strong faith in myself, this is a step to new experiences and despite some fears within me, im going to embrace the changes and learn fast :)

Happy Days in Perth

finally got down to the photos for my PERTH trip :)

we were in Perth from 17/5-23/5 to make up for the cancelled Japan trip :( and to visit Shuyee at the same time..and since we didnt visit any fancy restaurants to celebrate our 6th year anniversary, we made this trip kinda like a mini honeymoon to us..

this holiday gave me space and time to rejuvenate myself..i felt so tiny admist the boundless blue sky and grass lands and foilage and all unhappiness within me didnt mattered anymore..and though it was very very cold, but my boy took good care of me and kept my heart warm and fuzzy all the time..Perth is beautiful in its way and my initial fears of being bored on this trip was uncalled for..the pictures speaks so much more than i can express in words..

Day 1

baby's dad gave us a ride to the airport and we took Singapore Airlines since its gonna be a long flight (long enough to me)..

i love my dinner..ginseng chicken!

Chengy (bf's cousin) came to pick us up and waited for us for more than 1hr..thanks so much!

Day 2

woke up later than expected we only slept at 3am the night before..and silly shuyee gave me a shock in the morning by shouting "WAKE UP" and hitting the bed..haha..

Here's Uncle Roy's house where all the cousins and Shuyee stayed at..Chengy was nice to lend us his bedroom while he take the couch :)

Auntie Ladd welcomed us in the morning and made us breakfast..so nice!

all our plans got pushed back abt 2hrs late..but we popped by the supermarket near Chengy's place to get some snacks for the 3hours drive down Margaret River..and to get Vitamin C because both baby and I had bad cold probably due to the change in weather..it was pretty chilly to me with temperatures about 18degress in the afternoon

my wonderful partner and not-so-trusted driver..haha..

i kept going wow wow wow along the drive because the weather is so awesome and there were such pretty clouds..looking at them already makes me happy!

we were supposed to stop by Mandurah for light lunch or Simmo's Ice-creamery..but we were late so had to give it a miss :( headed straight to Busselton Jetty but our TomTom wasnt too accurate and we got lost :( the first destination and we got lost, navigator doesnt help and we did not have a map of Bunbury region..so we decided to drive to a beach and make out our direction..and we chanced upon a beautiful beach where locals do fishing!

Busselton Jetty

we were famished by then, so we had our late lunch and early dinner at THE GOOSE

the goose offers a good view of the beachfront and its a nice place to chill and relax..and since its turning to winter and the weather is cool and breezy, its really a great idea to take the outdoor seats..

their Wednesday's specials includes a seafood platter for two and though the portion wasnt very big..it was good enough for 2 person..there is tuna, smoked salmon (yums!), avocado, mayo prawns, octopus and my favourite SCALLOPS!! the scallops were the best i have ever had..and looking at it made me missed it so much :(

we got ourselves salty and spicy calamari which was very yummy too!

not forgetting 2 natural oysters for the boy!

we very much wanna just sit there and chat and plan our next route..but the sun was setting even though it was only 4plus..so we wasted no time, paid for the expensive lunch and head to the jetty observatory centre..

Unfortunately, we missed the last train ride to the end of the jetty and the observatory centre was closed for maintenance that day..how unlucky :(

so we just went to the visitor centre to read up a little more and watch the beautiful sunset..

i was really cold but the surroundings are so beautiful we didnt wanna leave..

thanks to the good weather we took lots of pictures..and the the sky looks so close to us, maybe due to the lack of tall buildings in the vicinity..

we hurried to leave before the sky turned dark because we were warned that there arent many road lights along the way and its pretty hard to drive around..the drive to Gracetown, where we staying for 2 nights , took us almost an hour..and the drive was really really tough and i had to handle TomTom the navigator and screen for numbers and road signs..

Finally arrived at

MERRIBROOK RETREAT

the place was pitch dark by the time we arrived, that is 7pm..so we had to drive really carefully and used the torch provided to find our way to the Lakeview villa..

when we finally on the lights to check out the villa, which appeared more like a studio apartment, it was pleasing :) you find everything you need all in the room, except, you do not have TV programmes, internet connection or phone access..and it feels like a remote jungle because we only see tress around!

But we love our stay because for that 2 nights, our attention is only on each other because there were no distractions..haha..and we dont usually get to stay in a place like this anywhere, where the morning light peek in through the ceiling window and where walls and ceilings are made of timber and wood..pretty awesome experience!

the coffee area is neatly tucked behind the cupboard which was good because my boy created alot of mess every night when he makes himself hot coffee..btw, he loves the coffee that was complimentary!

the bathroom was only separated from the bedroom by the blinds and the couch was soooo comfortable i can fall asleep on it while browsing the magazines..the host of the villa provided us a map of the area with the must-go places in margaret river..thumbs up for that!

i brought aromatherapy essential oil for the trip..it filled the room with the scent of bergamot and it was soothing :)

made myself tea, but it was soo cold outside baby asked me to go back into the room..it was about 6-8 degrees or maybe lower because margaret rivers tends to get colder than Perth..

Day 3

woke up and excitedly rushed to the glass doors to check out how it looks like outside..and boy, it was breathtaking!

i took the picture from the villa..in fact, the lake was a distance away from the villa and surrounded by different types of trees ready to turn red/brown since it was turning to winter..

Merribrook is home to different wildlife and birdlife..i spotted a Kokabara just outside the villa and there were a group of sheep not too far from the place we reside..there are kangaroos, foxes and rabbits (which i have yet to see) and we met Lorraine's (the host) doggie on the last day which was HUGE..

there are lots of different trees and the place offers a circuit track for walking..i think its abt 10km if im not wrong..virgin forest with some premium soil..we could even do a cape to cape walk..

Tranquil Karri Forest

Arrived at the Lake side Lodge for breakfast and immediately felt the warmth of the open wood log fire when i step in..it was so comfortable and the perfect ambience for a hearty breakfast..

by the way, the gourmet breakfast is simply delicious! it makes simple ingredients like bread and egg taste so wonderful together! yums!

there is also a wide selections of tea and coffee..and the pancakes are superb too!

i love fruits and the fruit bowl instantly made me happy..i ate so much pears tt morning :)

Lorraine, the host came to welcome us before our breakfast and surprisingly, she remembered my name..she is warm and genuine and it made our time there so enjoyable..

the olive farm is just a turn away from Merribrook..and the weather is great :)

first headed to Pemberton Town for the Lavender and Berry Farm..should have gone to the berry farm in margaret river because it took us 1.5hrs to drive down southeast to Pemberton..but the experience was worth it :)

there's actually a playground for the kids and tables for the adults to chill and chat..i loved how the australians can enjoy their laidback weekends like this..in Singapore, there is no lakes or pretty maple trees for us to sit ard do nth and talk, and for that, i really appreciate what nature has to offer here..

Welcome to yummy homemade ice cream and famous berry pancakes!

in the shop, there is a wide selection of homemade products, there are syrups, bottled sauces, jams (which i bought 4 bottles), soaps, lavender body cream which i bought as well and lots more..

we ordered their famous berry pancake, ice cream, tea and coffee and went to look for a seat outside..

the Lavender farm is like a mini maze..so tall

next we head to Augusta, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

we got lost :( and at some point baby got abit pissed and stopped by the roadside to look for directions..

but then, because we got lost we saw many beautiful valleys along the roads in Karridale..

finally found our way and we're seeing the lighthouse!

drove back to Margaret river and had our dinner at Settler's Cafe, a quaint and cozy cafe..

my boy had his dose of oysters again..this time, all 6 to himself..i had yummy Scallop linguine tossed with truffle oil which taste great! babyboy had Wagyu steak burger..

had a fulfilling day and caught the movie "When a man loves a woman" and cried to it..haha..packed our stuff for a while because we had to leave the next day :(

i have a friend who used to be happy, bubbly, full of nonsense and most importantly, genuine..she gets more emotional these days..at times she smiles like she has chosen the best direction for herself and at times she gets so hurt and upset, it makes me feel lost and sad too..she hides all her feelings now and im really worried that she will kill herself when she gives up hope totally..i dont write extremely well, neither do i make sensible advises..but whoever that thinks she has lost her heart and is getting on happily ever after, you just dunno how hard it is for her..

she makes me feel like god has really left her behind..i wanna help her so badly but i just dunno what i can do for her..there are times when im pissed by the decisions she makes, there are times i wish she was stronger, at times i see her cry and feel like crying too and all the time, i hope that keeping her company and making her laugh makes her feel sane and loved somehow..

there just a couple of hours to the end of her birthday..god, can you just be nice to her and make her the happiest girl today? she deserves to be the princess and deserves to be the happy, active and cheerful girl she use to be..

Off to Bali again!

we were there from 12 Jan to 16 Jan to crash Angela & Ben's pre honeymoon and to celebrate mine 24th birthday :)

this trip was an impromptu one cos i spent way beyond limits in Bangkok a month earlier and we supposed to jet off to Japan in April..but well, buddies were very very generous to treat us to a night stay at the very awesome villa and the airtickets are pretty affordable so we took my birthday as an excuse to holiday again!

Day 1

i realised i am getting more and more blur as i travel..this time i forgot the whole envelope of rupiah currency which freak the both of us out when we were just 45mins before check in..thank god baby had his ATM with him cos we didnt have enough SGD to exchange for currency..after all the mad rush, thankfully we board the plane in time and baby didnt scold me for my forgetfulness..

arrived around midnight and i was sleepy and hungry..it didnt helped when there was a traffic jam on the way to the hotel :(

met Angela and Ben who were on an earlier flight..they waited for us at the lobby for so long and after settling payment and magic shrooms (haha!) with Hussein, the co-worker of ShuHui's travel company, we went for supper..

Day 2

we spent our first night at Tanaya Bed and Breakfast which was cheap and not too bad..we only had to sleep there since we are checking in to the villa the next afternoon..but i dont think i will stay there anymore if i have the choice, not that it is bad.. im quite a fussy traveller and i would prefer that the pillows look clean and the sheets smell good..and i had to sleep with wet hair cos the hairdryer was overheated and emitting smoke :(

and i was feeling happy cos its my birthday! :)

Ben went off to get his skim board fixed and the three of us started off with breakfast..Angela surprised me with my birthday present, a lovely pair of earings which i love so so much! thanks babe!

we went back to the rooms to change into bikinis cos Ben suggested that we rent a motorbike to ride to Kuta Beach..sounds fun yeah!

we rented the bike for about SGD 10 for a day (i hope i dont remember it wrongly)..the guys checked the bikes and my babyboy test ride on the bike since he had no prior riding experience before..this thought is kinda scary cos i was the pillion and god knows if my boy knows how to handle the bike..

during the test ride, baby over accelerated and gave all of us a shock..hahaha! but gotta trust my boy and so we are ready to go!

anyway, i wanna say that its actually quite romantic to sit on the bike behind him..totally new experience and he looks so cool..hahaha!

VILLA DE DAUN

have been wanting to go back and i miss the spa so badly..

sadly, we didnt get the same room as we had during our last stay..this time they gave us a deluxe pool bedroom which was supposed to be better, but i like the previous one better :( Ben and Angela were disappointed too and feedback to the recep..their service was really good and informed them later that they managed to change their rooms for the second night..

baby tried to comfort me that ours is not too bad..at least we had a big bathroom and the swimming pool that is linked to the living area looks good..

Saw a ceremonial which we later found out that its a sea burial..looks really grand with so so many people..

back to the villa..

we managed to get some time to enjoy each other's company in the villa and pool :) freshen up a little before we pop by the spa for the evening..i seriously cant wait teehee

got to choose our massage oils and a drink before the therapist bring us to our room..

made a little request for this room cos i peeped at all the rooms on my previous holiday..the spa is truely indulgence and the ambience just makes u feel very in love..

went back to the room for the dinner..flowers and table set up shortly after our return..but the food was average this time so i didnt bother taking much pictures anyway..

we were lazing on the large day chairs after the dinner when the waiter passed baby a big box and some roses..

my boy had arranged a little surprise for my birthday and got me a birthday cake :) :) :) the roses were poorly wrapped, but they were beautiful! baby said victor, his brother-in-law went to a French bakery to custom order the cake because few bakeries in Bali make this kinda cake, and baby asked for a vanilla butter cream cake which was uncommon to their usual chocolate cakes..but well, the cake taste good (i prefer vanilla to choc) and i like how it looks..most importantly, i thought he was very sweet cos he took the effort to make prior arrangements despite being overseas..

felt very very touched and loved! thanks ♥

in fact, i was so touched that i told him if he have the ring with him now, he doesnt have to propose cos i was willing to marry him at tt moment..haha..so silly!

and shortly after..

its MUSHROOM TIME!

here, they call it magic shrooms, its added to your drink or food and its kinda like a drug cos it gets you to hallucinate and amplify your emotions..the effect stays around for like 4-5hours and i think we did had alot of crazy fun though we kept restricting the guys, not letting them get out of our sight..and Angela had a fall and what seems like an asthma attack..and we tried to watch a horror comedy which got all of all us very scared..

Day 3

we had a late night and i woke up to have a slight headache..its kinda like a mini hangover where i got very stoned..haha..

breakfast was set up by the pool for us..love eating with my boy like this..

driver came to pick us up at 9plus and head off to Ubud, Kintamani, to see the magnificent Mt. Batur the active volcano in the East of Bali

the drive up is about 1 and 1/2 hours and its the best time to catch more sleep..

Driver stopped by this beautiful rice terrace and suggested we could take pictures..

finally reached a coffee house which offers a good view of the volcano..the weather wasnt at its best and you could only make out the outline of the volcano :(

its chilly up there as we are on the higher lands in the region..we ordered Indonesian coffee and tea and it was perfect to just chill and enjoy one another's company

then we set off for the much awaited
Naughty Nuri's Pork Ribs!

have been craving for it since my last time there..and honestly, i have not tasted any ribs close enough to this anywhere..its so yummy i think everyone should try..

After the very filling lunch, we headed for the factory outlets back in town, only to realise we are running late and would risk missing the sunset..so we headed straight to Jimbaran beach instead

was there slightly early and we found a seat to sit down and camwhore..but baby's favourite cup of corn and place orders for dinner..

there was ultimately no sunset in the end as the sky was cloudy..boo!! :(

but Angela kept helping me and baby to take pictures and suggested goin near the waters to take pictures..of course i gladly took pics with my boy because im such a camwhore..

here, the sun was almost gone and Ben suggested that Angela helped me and baby to take pictures again..but i later found out that the fireworks baby planned for me was supposed to go off at this time..HAHAHA..but it didnt went as planned so we went back to the table so that i would not get suspicious..

our yummy seafood spread that we didnt finish in the end cos everyone was too nervous and we all lost our appetite..haha

shortly after, a indonesian guy came over to Ben and asked him: so can put already?

and Ben went "huh uh what" and at the same time nodding his head..and the rest tried to cover up by asking him who was the guy and brushing it off saying tt the guy was siao and made a mistake..very funny!

but honestly, i didnt expected anything even after i saw tt indo guy..even after fireworks filled the sky, i just got so excited and started video-ing..because fireworks at the beaches are common and baby's sister has already told me its hard to get fireworks after the festive season..so his surprise to propose was successful i would say! :)

but anyway, my silly boy got me as nervous as him and my legs went soft when he knelt down and gave me the box with the ring..the boy had forgotten all that he had planned to say and even forgotten to wear the ring on my finger, then he got up..hahaha! nervous max i think! everyone clapped and congratulated us and that scene is indeed a hard-to-forget one..

and so, i got engaged on the 14th Jan 2011 ♥

and fireworks proposal was something i wished for for a long long time, and babyboy managed to give it to me :) of course, it would not have been possible without our 2 dear friends, Ben and Angela and of course victor who helped my boy with the roses, cake and the fireworks..i really really appreciate it..

it was hard to sleep that night because i was too happy..he told me all that stuff he forgot to say at the beach and im really touched..shall save the mushy details..but i really do love this man very very much and he is definitely the best i would ever have..

Day 4

i had banana pancakes with vanilla icecream for breakfast :) and baby had indonesian fried rice which was yummy too..

checked out the villa and the staff wished me happy birthday knowing that it was my birthday the day before..we were also given their house brand shampoo and body wash set as gifts..how thoughtful!

driver dropped us at the factory outlet to walk around and bought Stadium Satay to bring to Banyan Tree to eat..the satay really rocks! juicy and spicy!

we arrived at Banyan Tree in the afternoon after making a few wrong turns..the staff at Banyan Tree actually called Villa De Daun to ask if we needed them to pick us to the hotel on the day of check in..we still have no clue how they knew where we were and managed to contact us at Villa De Daun..

we were greeted by friendly staff upon arrival..they placed a fragipani above our ear and rice on our forehead..i cant rem exactly what it meant, but it symbolises blessings of good health and luck i think..

while waiting for the buggy to take us to the villa, me and Angela checked out the area and went to the toilet..the public toilet was huge! there was a big 3 seater sofa in the washroom!

arrived at the villa after the introduction about the area, the restaurants, the direction to the private beach..the place looked grand and up-market..haha we live A DAY in luxury in Bali..

first we all rushed to the master bedroom to check it out..the bathroom looks even bigger than the bedroom..i mean the whole place is really big..behind the 2 basins and mirror, you see the dressing/make up area with stools..the jacuzzi bathtub is coupled with showerhead, with view of the outside and u can have the luxury of watching the TV..there is a separate shower that you can choose to sit on the attached block..or you can choose to bathe outdoors too..the bedroom overlooks the private infinity pool and you can choose the type of pillow you prefer..

we just cant stop goin wow wow wow in the room!

the living area is really spacious and the full glass walls offers the view of the infinity pool and beautiful surroundings..the couch is big and the stereo were the upmarket expensive kind (according to bf)...

the outdoor is just as great..we have a heated jacuzzi which i like :) and the big day bed that fits the four of us comfortably..not forgetting the infinity pool overlooking the sea..just beautiful!

we were getting a little hungry and little did we expect that everything on the menu is so expensive, i think even the room service was expensive :( finally decided on the buffet dinner for the night and walked there instead calling for the buggy..

the dessert selection was plenty..i stood there staring at the yummy desserts for a while before moving on the the mains..

the Legong Palace dance was performed during dinner

the only thing that i love very much is this, the BBQ tiger prawns on kebab!

As for desserts, the molten chocolate cake and the pear tart was awesome !! and you might have noticed that we were given a tray of honey, lemon, lime etc for our drinks..interesting!

the dinner took us about 3hours because we were trying to look for Ben's wallet and iphone over dinner, and there was a huge thunderstorm outside..thankfully the iphone was found in the villa halfway through the dinner, but sadly the wallet was never seen again :(

the villa was situated on high lands and i think that is why the wind is so strong..the restaurant staff called for 2 buggy to bring us back to the villa..and the buggy was fully covered to make sure we were not wet..but upon arriving at the doorsteps of the villa, the villa door was unable to open :( luckily one of the buggy stayed back (to see us into the villa) and decided to bring us to the lobby to wait while they fix the door problem..apparently there was a short circuit or smth due to the lightning and all and the door issue cannot be totally fixed..

so we got the duty manager to come into the villa after we were back to complain and feedback our disappointment, and in turn, we were compensated with lunch the next afternoon and late checkout at anytime the next day :)

Day 5

baby and i woke up at 6plus because we were told that we might be able to catch sunrise..but we ended up sleeping on the daybed because there was no sunrise :( i can imagine how pretty the sky would have been if we see it!

i went back to sleep on the comfy bed and i refused to wake up for breakfast..in fact, the couple also couldnt wake up..in the end it got my babyboy pissed because he didnt wanna waste time sleeping and i got scared and quickly freshen up for breakfast..haha

finally ready to go..we left without the couple to appease my boy haha

he cheered up a little after seeing the sumptous breakfast..you get to choose from many different types of jams and there were many condiments to go with the food..other than breads and eggs, there is sushi and some sashimi too :)

the egg omelette was superb! baby liked the egg benedict..anyway we were also offered champagne and cocktails for breakfast..nice!

went back to pack our bags and the staff came in abt an hour later to set up for lunch..we were too full for lunch man!

anyway, here's our room! the toilet wasnt as big as the master bedroom but it was luxurious enough for 2 of us :) it also has a shower head at the jacuzzi bathtub, outdoor shower and a standing shower..love the room very much!

the lunch was all organic food..i think the first dish was some raw fish or i dunno wat meat which i totally didnt touch..the second dish was love because there were plenty of mushroom bits well marinated and baked in the chicken meat wrap..very yummy! we had pudding for dessert but i was too full i just ate the fruits beside it..

and i sadly had to leave a big portion of my cake behind since it cant be brought back to sg :(

and goodbye beautiful Bali..im going back to Singapore with my fiance :)

Bali is again a place that has left beautiful memories for me..

we haven been on a double date trip for a long time and this time i think we had lotsa fun together..im very happy to see that Angela & Ben are married and starting their new phase now..and it is heartening to know Ben and baby are still close buddies despite not working together anymore..baby isnt really someone who shows that he cares for his friends but i can tell that he really cares for this bro alot..hope that there will be another chance for a trip before they start having kids :)

And, i spent my birthday well and got engaged to precious boy..other than feeling blessed and happy, i am also excited that we are taking a step ahead and having bigger plans in life..life isnt going to be easy but as long as i have boy with me, i think a simple life can also be a very blissful one..

Today is a bad day at work.

I guess im having mood swings but the things that happened at work made it worse. I have nv tried to hold back my tears so hard at work. Couldnt take it anymore, i just cried. I really hate them and hate myself for not being able to cope better. Do you know how it feels when even smiling at someone brings you hostility.

I have had enough. I want to be impulsive and resign then stay at home and find a job. I want to be happy, or at least feel accepted.

I hope all of you rot your fucking life away. I hate you.

An opportunity came and i gladly prepared myself for another interview :)

you could say this is the job of my dreams and i believed it will definitely be a rewarding career for me..

the 1st round of interview was good, in my opinion (hopefully!)..the interviewer was nice and she let out occasional smiles as i responded to her questions.. the 2nd interview was with the president and he basically just talked to me more about the brand and i felt that i didnt had much to say..i was afraid to be rude to intercept when he was enjoyed talking about their brand story..

i guess each interview made me learnt something in return..i felt nervous, i lack confidence..but i saw a different me this time round..i am dying to learn new things and i am all ready to take up new challenges..all i need is a chance..

its wednesday today and i feel quite sad..will something good happen to me today?

Japan 2011

2 weeks ago, Japan was struck with Earthquake and Tsunami that left the beautiful island with so much destruction and took away so many lives. We sat infront of the TV or computer and watch videos and pictures about the mighty tsunami and movie-like images and grief. But the Japanese dealt with the terrible disaster with calmness and they cared for the fellow Japanese to tide through the difficult times together.

I ADMIRE THEM. SALUTE!

i wonder if Singaporeans will behave the same way should we face a disaster. i dont think so. but there's no doubt, this is still where i am goin to call home. i cant be more thankful that we are blessed with peaceful and safe days, and we get to good schools and everyone have a chance to own at least a flat here.

anyway, back to Japan. its really depressing to look at the photos and videos. i am also disappointed that bf and i wont be going to Japan anymore. we have cancelled the trip as the tremours and other issues still worries me. Pray for the people of Japan, may the people have the strength to rebuild their lives and homes.

Japanese people have been very open on Twitter about their experiences following the quake. These snippets of what moved them and touched them during these very trying times are heart-warming.

At a congested downtown intersection …
Cars were moving at the rate of maybe one every green light, but everyone was letting each other go first with a warm look and a smile. At a complicated intersection, the traffic was at a complete standstill for 5 minutes, but I listened for 10 minutes and didn’t hear a single beep or honk except for an occasional one thanking someone for giving way. It was a terrifying day, but scenes like this warmed me and made me love my country even more.

It was cold and I was getting very weary waiting forever for the train to come. Some homeless people saw me, gave me some of their own cardboard boxes and saying “you’ll be warmer if you sit on these!” I have always walked by homeless people pretending I didn’t see them, and yet here they were offering me warmth. Such warm people.

What foreigners are saying about Japanese people
At a supermarket where everything was scattered everywhere over the floors, shoppers were helping pick them up and putting them back neatly on the shelves before quietly moving into line to wait to pay for them. On the totally jam-packed first train after the quake, an elderly man gave up his seat for a pregnant woman. Foreigners have told me they are amazed witnessing sights like these. I do believe they actually saw what they said they saw. Japan is truly amazing.

A little story about Papa
We live in an area that was not directly hit. When my father came downstairs and heard the news saying that our area had begun allocating electricity to the hard-hit areas, he quietly led by example, turning off the power around the house and pulling the plugs out of their sockets. I was touched. He usually NEVER turns off the lights or the AC or the TV or anything!

Japan is a wonderful nation!
Both the government and the people, everyone is helping one another today. There are truck drivers helping evacuees move. I even heard that the “yakuza” (gangsters, organized crime groups) are helping to direct traffic in the Tohoku region! Morning Ceremony
At the shopping center I work at, every morning we have a ritual (common in Japan) where we stand and recite, “No matter what the situation, I will never show anxiety before my customer; in all customer-facing situations I will treat my customers with respect and do everything I can to make them feel comfortable and at ease”. Today, these words were all actually kind of touching. Well, so the day begins! Here we go people, open shop!

It was stupid of me to think I could catch a cab at Urawamien Station. I ended up walking 30 minutes and then finally was picked up by a stranger who offered to give me a lift. I’m touched by the warmth of human kindness. Thank you, thank you!

Last night, I decided, rather than stay at the office, I should try walking home. So I slowly made my way west on Koshu freeway on foot. It was around 9PM when I saw an office building that had a sign that said “Please use our office’s bathrooms! Please rest here!” The employees of the office were loudly shouting out the same to all the people trying to walk home. I was so touch I felt like crying. Well, I guess I was too tense yesterday to cry, but now the tension is wearing off and am very much in tears.

A big, kind voice
I’ve been walking for many hours now. I’m touched at how everywhere I turn, there are shops open with people shouting “Please use our bathroom!” or “Please rest here!” There were also office buildings where people with access to information were voluntarily shouting out helpful tips, like “**** line is now operational!” Seeing things like this after walking for hours and hours made me feel like weeping with gratitude. Seriously, there is still hope for this country!

Coffee
My husband finally got home very late last night after walking for 4 hours. He told me he felt like giving up at around Akabane, when an elderly man who was going around handing out free coffee saw him, gave him a steaming cup and said, “You must be tired and cold. Here, have some coffee!” My husband told me that it was because of this elderly man that he found the will and strength to continue walking. I’ve already heard this story from him five times tonight, so no doubt he was really, really touched! Thank you to my husband’s anonymous helper!

Blood donations
Japan is strong! At Osaka I saw a LONG line of people waiting to give blood at the blood donation center. This is the first time I have seen such a queue of selfless people waiting patiently in line just to give. It was a moving sight! To everyone in the hard-hit areas, we your countrymen accept your suffering as our own and we share in your grief. Do not give up! Stay strong

Same boat!
Last night, Aobadai station was jammed with stranded people unable to get home. But there were private cars with drivers shouting “If you’re going in the direction of ****, please hop on!” I was able to hitch a ride on one of them. When I thanked the driver, he replied “No worries! We’re all on the same boat. We have to stick together!”

At the emergency evacuation area, a young first-year intern at my company who had brought her phone’s charger got permission from the facility to use their power socket and went around shouting “Anyone need to charge their phone? Please use my charger!” Just a little thing, but I was touched

The 1st question when u hear that i am engaged would be:

so when will your wedding be?

seriously, i wish it was tomorrow..but honestly, it will not be anytime near..

i want a garden wedding and im never keen on a dinner banquet..but the weather in Singapore wouldnt make the wedding a perfect one..its gonna mess up the hair and make up..and that is the last thing i want on my wedding :(

i fell in love with this place about a year back when we chanced upon it one day.. and i jokingly told boyfriend fiance that if we are going to hold our wedding..i want it to be here..and yeah he loved that place very much too..

this place is everything i want..a small intimate wedding affair..but then again, its crazily expensive to hold a wedding there..in fact the most expensive place in Singapore i have heard of..so now, am i lucky or unlucky to find a place that it is so close to my dream wedding venue? there's no way any angbao's gonna cover this because giving $180 ang pao is quite hmm..hard..

tell me if i should drop this idea or postpone the wedding ideas till i save enough ?

i kinda regret not keeping track of the new BTO years back..afterall we're a pretty stable couple and getting married seems just a matter of time..but i guess we'll have to drop the idea of BTO because its so hard to get a BTO in clementi and other than clementi, there isnt anywhere else i wanna live in..haha..

but i've got my eyes set on these new flats :) i just wish our luck would be good and the flats can be released sooner..gotta go check out more about it when i am free :)

finally this trip is materialising :) :) its expensive and i am not sure if following a tour is any cheaper because we're extending the trip on our own to see more of TOKYO..i have been saving up for this but i guess it wasnt enough because i spent so much in Bangkok (nov '10) and my savings is kinda strained by all my random spendings :(

sometimes, i wonder if i am living beyond my means..i love to travel and see the world..and its important to me because it rejuvenates my soul :) furthermore, i am never a discipline person when it comes to shopping and i can buy the most stupid things as long as it makes me happy..i have decided to not force myself to change my spending habits because doing so makes me depressed..but i'll try to execute more thinking in choosing the things i need and things that i want..

anyway, before i dwell on the depressing issues of changing a new job (again!) i shall be happy and look forward to Japan with my dear boy :)

my favourite time of the year is here again..i haven been writing regularly, but this should be in time since we celebrate for 15days..heehee..

hope the RABBIT year brings good luck, health and fortune in my life!! and of course hope that everyone is safe and happy..

i have been rushing out my CNY event and the super long weekend was awesome cos i got to sleep and stay away from workplace :)

woke up at 7am despite my leave from work because me and sis companied Grandpa to prepare the food for the reunion lunch/dinner :) thankfully we went with him..the chicken / duck and all that food was so heavy and he was feeling giddy that whole week..worried abt him!

anyway, i shall not remember those unhappy stuff and how some people can be so unappreciative of my grandpa's effort..he went to buy and prepare all the food for everyone but yet people can just choose to leave for watever reasons that i seriously do not care..come on, it's just once a year and dont you know how much old people value this day..damn angry

anyway, we still had some fun lah..the steamboat cooker was short circuit and i experienced almost 3 blackouts that day..haha..and my aunt and uncle were so funny and made me laugh so hard..

continued spring cleaning my room cos im super bad and slow at it..and count down with the TV show to a new lunar year..huat ah!

woke up a little later than usual years and quickly prepare to head out..mum was searching for the lion-dance music on youtube and blast it in the morning..

HAHA!! i dunno how true it is..but she read the fengshui book and followed the list to prepare all the food..all these are to stop the rabbit from entering your house (the rabbit is suppose to stay outside your house and eat all these food) so that the rabbit would not steal the from your house..

went to Aunt's house at night for dinner..i left shortly after dinner and Baby picked me up to Ben's place..first time getting angbao from Angela haha..hope it will be at least 2 years till my turn..and Baby and me both won at ban luck again heehee :)

went to Boss's house with colleagues to bai nian..didnt win much that day :( had dinner outside the house and the weather was great! drinking hot soup in the garden area in the cooling weather was so enjoyable..it made me felt less sian for the night..met up with Angela & Ben again to watch movie and supper..

i wish its CNY everyday so that i do not have to work..and i can eat sleep eat sleep and gamble all day..haha!!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Goodbye to 2010 and i welcome 2011 with big smiles..2011 will be a good year for me, it has to be..haha!

The year of 2010 hasnt been the best..there are quite a bit of ups and downs and i learnt alittle bit more about humans. I guess i grew up in an environment full of love. Love from my family, my boyfriend and even my dear girlfriends dote on me..i nv expected that people can be so pretentious and i nv had to be this wary of the impression i project to others..

in short, if there is only one word to describe how i felt about the past year, it would have been
TIRED

Family
Quite a bit of changes took place. There were times when the little one broke my heart. And of course, he hurt all those who loved him dearly. Things also got slightly better at home. Mum changed her job of more than 10 years. I hope in the coming year, we can still have lots of happy moments that make us laugh when we look back. I hope the best for Grandpa's health and i hope God will grant my wish to have him on my wedding day. This is my biggest wish for now..

Love

I guessed i have passed the hurdle where i thought that our expectations and goals in life were different..sometimes, our differences do help us to be a better couple..right now, i miss you even when you are just sitting beside me on the couch and i wanna spend every bit of my time with you..i learned that your job will cause us issues on how we spend our time together..i learned how to compromise and be contented with what you can give me..i learned that you have always been giving me your best and for me, you have nv stopped trying hard..i have no wishes or expectations for love this year..because happy things usually happens when you least expects it :) and honestly, you've been the best, i cant ask for anything better

Career
i dont like my job. the bulk of my unhappiness this whole year comes from my job. so i reckon the only way to lead a balanced mind and have less bad feelings would be to find a better job. People closer to me would have probably heard me talking abt the bad stuff a thousand times, but truth is, i nv stopped thinking of resigning for the last 6 months..

i really appreciate how each and everyone of you cares for me..thank you so much for keep me company when my weekends are lonely..thank you so much for preparing me for my DBS interview..thank you so much for appreciating my presence in your life and thank you for the awesome stay at MBS..thank you for making work life happier and thank you for all those crazy fun and drama we had when we were drunk..i am glad we grew closer to each other while we stood by each other this period of time..

this trip was supposed to be for me, babysis and Angela..but some stuff cropped up and ended up, only me and sis went :( hope there would be another chance to go with my dear girl next time!

baby sent the both of us to the airport at 5am in the morning..and i was very very blur because i forget to take along with me lots of things..and i just lost my newly bought concealer on my way to Bangkok :(

baby got us burger king for breakfast..blur sis mistook salt for sugar and ended up drinking salted coffee..so silly!

after clearing the customs, did we realised that our flight was delayed for 2hours..argh! took photos and went shopping to kill time..and we each got ourselves a Chanel lipgloss..i think i bought it on impulse..

Finally arrived at Bangkok..and when the plane landed, the pilot announced that the temperature outside is 26degrees..we were thinking, how was that possible when the sun was so bright and strong..but when we went out the get a cab, the wind was really chilly! i love the weather...

paid for 450baht for a meter cab and arrived at BAIYOKE BOUTIQUE HOTEL..we went for the apartment suite where we could check in and out anytime and we could utilise the facilities over at Baiyoke Sky..but no time..we dont even have enough time to shop..

welcome drinks..

the rooms look like this..but the clock belongs to the lobby counter lah..there was a balcony and another sofa and cupboard out of the picture..there were like 2 TVs in the room..one facing the bed and another the coffee table..

the room was ok..but the fighting cocks at the back of the hotel was driving me crazy every morning..

dropped our bags and left for Platinum Mall..shopped till about 7plus and we went Swensens for FONDUE! it was colder outside the shopping mall..and the wind was so strong but it was so shiok...it was the first time getting this cold in BKK..we wore cardigans because we really couldnt take it..SO SHIOK!!

we bought food from the road side stall near the hotel..and by the time we reached the hotel its almost 11pm..the stretch through Pratunam market was dark and scary..we changed the return route to the hotel after that night..

Halloween!!

Sis had chicken fried rice which was yummy but a lil oily..and my omelette rice :)
we also bought lots of tibits!

Day 2

had breakfast..wasnt very nice because the variety was so little..the only thing that i like was the porridge..

at the 2nd floor

went back to the hotel to tie our hair, grab our stuff and we are ready to GO!

JJ MARKET...

we only took 1 short break to have some snacks..skipped lunch and shopped until 8plus..my feets were numbed..thankfully the weather was great!! we didnt even sweat at all..and when we were at the open area of the market, its even more awesome..

i always thought that the market would close at 5pm or maybe 6pm..but im wrong..there were shops opened till 8plus..they were mainly at the main stretch instead of the shops hidden inside..and the market got so crowded and we just kept walking and walking since there was almost no way you could walk out of it..thank god it was cooling, otherwise i would just faint right there..

we bought so much stuff, felt really broke that day lah..but we are happy shoppers :)

dropped our stuff and thought for a long time whether we should walk out to eat dinner or get room service..dont feel safe for the both of us to leave the hotel at 10plus at night..

ultimately, we continued our shopping at some roadside stalls..bought mostly accessories..and here's our very shiok TOM YUM SOUP and grilled fish..i was concerned about the hygiene of the food..but sis was very encouraging..so we just dig in :)

after one long day..and my face still looks fine..other than the good weather, i think my new found BB cream really works for me..this is my face with just some concealer, bb cream and eyeliner left from the morning :) and if you haven noticed..the bb cream does help to conceal the huge ass pimple i have on my trip..

silly sis brought her boots to wear in the hotel room..tried to do a little packing before we crash in bed..

Day 3

after breakfast, we took the hotel's shuttle bus to siam area..saved our travelling time..

we went Siam and MBK hoping to get lingerie..but didnt found anything suitable..bought their local foodstuff for the folks at home..not forgeting Naraya where sis saw lots of stuff she liked..

quickly head for our spa because we were running very late..

i got a 4hour spa package for the both of us at DHARA SPA..i chanced on the 50% opening promo and i kinda liked the treatments..the spa started off with a body scrub..pretty intensive one..then a body wrap..then a aromatherapy massage..followed by a 1hour long foot massage..

i really needed the foot massage..you can see from the picture below..my arms were almost always red because we carried our bags ourselves :(

throughout the trip, everyone kept asking if we were twins..i guess its because of my perm..and on this day..i think we look pretty identical in the similar outfit..haha

our hair looks screwed up after the spa lah...but its really quite shiok..the body scrub and wrap really smoothen my skin and the staff were very friendly..overall a nice try..time to go back for a good sleep!

Day 4

Breakfast was changed to the 9th floor..i guess its their banquet room or smth..breakfast was slightly better because i had lots of cocoa crunch and i got fried ham tt morning..its so much better than the normal ham..

since it was the last day, and we only had platinum mall in mind for that day..we slacked a little at their balcony outside the banquet room..my sis looks so chio! i think she looked even better after braces :)

sun was so bright i was struggling to open my eyes..hehe

waffles at A&W @ Pantip Plaza for late lunch

went back to the hotel at 6pm to pack our stuff then check out..we missed the bus tt would drop us at the Airport Rail Station :( ended up taking the buggy to the main street and walked to the airport rail station..though its just a short walk..it was not east handling 2 baggage each..

anyway, we took the airport rail to the airport because its freaking cheap..only 15baht each person and you definitely would not be caught in any jam..we could take our own sweet time and had more time to shop in the afternoon as well..

this pretty much sums up my trip..i have never spent so much in BKK before..bought lots of stuff that i liked..but those aint really cheap..cheap stuff are of not so good quality..but then again, there were exceptions..

and the 4 days made my baby missed me..heehee..now you know how i feel waiting for u to come back from your overseas exercises..

and last but not the least, i spent 4 full days with my babysis..she is really nice to me and though she is the younger one, she lets me have my way on most stuff..you're the best sister to me and i will never exchange you for anything!! hope one day i'll save enough money and take you and dear mummy to Taiwan soon..

we checked out EGG3 cafe on a sat evening with the other couple..i was having an extremely bad hangover because of a drama night..it was so bad i couldnt even finish lunch..thanks for being understanding to me my boy..your care through the night made me felt alot better..

anyway, the chef of EGG3 used to prepare awesome generous servings of crayfish pasta along Joo Chiat..we went there once and the crayfish and seafood pasta was really yummy..not forgetting the molten lava chocolate cake!

here's what we had: Seafood Aglio Olio (pales in comparison to what we used to have), pan seared chicken (yums!), Bacon & Mushroom pasta (nice!)

we moved over to the couch to have our desserts and check out Ben's ipad

the decorations of the restaurant attracts me alot..quirky looking couch and i love the teapots!

simple but enjoyable night :)

My work is officially taking up 80% of my life.. Apart from working from Monday-Fridays, I shop for christmas deco for the outlets and buy all the necessary stuff on Sat/Sun..its really tiring to work until 10.30pm and reach home at 11plus knowing that you have to wake up at 6.15am the next day to clear up my paper work in the office..

I really feel very drained and tired

I dont have time for my family after work..and on weekends, all i want to do is sleep till late afternoon..i am neglecting my boy and i have to postpone meetups with my friends..its my bad :(

i dunno how long more i can hold on, motivate myself and keep a open heart..i always believe that it is important to maintain a good working attitude..it is not only to prove to the people up there your worth, but more so because you wanna give your best in everything you're tasked to do..its really tricky and i feel tt i am losing my balance..

i decided that rather than whining about how sad my life is..maybe i should be brave, be firm and start showing people where my stand is..i should try to balance my life, be mentally healthy and try to be more optimistic..

its hard, but if i continue dwelling in all these smaller issues, i'll never grow and learn and i'll progress ahead in life..

Shopping with Kelley

went VIVOCITY for shopping because smth from F21 caught my eye the day before..then she companied me to Somerset 313 to get smth from NR for mummy before we ended up at KPO for beer and snacks for our dinner..we were famished!!

ordered 2 servings of Calamari because it was so nice! had Chicken wings and Shitake Mushrooms too..

i really love Kronenburg 1664..i missed the chance of trying it out at the previous product launch and this is my first try..its really good!

Lights Festival At Esplanade

I was feeling bored that weekend..so i asked baby to surprise me the next morning when we're gonna meet..he thought of 3 plans for our Saturday..he googled online and i picked the lights festival..but who knows, there wasnt much to see..

the singapore river looks prettier with the lighted up bridge that changes colour..the UOB building also had a lighted wallpaper print that changes the picture..

walking down the stretch..we spotted this jellyfish alike light display..the rubber tubes were tied mid air and the was a special effect when we video-ed it..it looks as though there were falling bubbles..as though it was snowing..looks so pretty :) :)

Dinner Date with Babyboy ♥

Dinner at the usual Jap restaurant..but i guess we should make a trip to Chikuwa Tei soon..has been almost 6 months since i heard the chef shifted and had a new shop but we've yet to try it out..

Baby companied me to look for the Mango dress i wanted to buy for Angela's wedding..but sadly its sold out everywhere...sigh! gotta continue to look for smth nice for her special day..

i like this pair of jeans from Pull & Bear..but it gets bigger with every wash :( gotta have it altered if this continues..

baby took a ride to Dempsey for ice cream after all the shops are closed for the night..finally got the seats outside and had the swinging seats :) haha..we were the last customer for that night..so we just took our own sweet time to eat and chat..

life has been laid back and simple for us these days..hope we can save more money for holidays by not going to expensive restaurants..i know we can work it out together :)

5 years and counting and you're still very nice to me..because of work issues, this past month we only see each other on alternate days..that means i dont get to spend some weekends with him..that means we are not waking up to each other's faces every morning..but that made us appreciated the time we have together more than before..that somehow made me learnt to be a little more independent and made him treasure my presence more..contradiction right? i always thought that i wanna make lots of plans on weekends to make sure we are spending quality time together..but these days, all that we want is to sleep in longer and lie in each other's arm and chat the afternoon away..to me, seeing your smile is enough to make me smile too..

i wanna believe that we will always be together and you are the love of my life..i always wanted someone who could love me back as much as i love him..and now i truely mean it when i say i wanna marry you someday..i really love you very much..and I just wanna be the one that makes you happy..

Was there for the last four days with my dearest sister and all went fine..though i was quite blur most of the time and we got lost sometimes..bought lots of stuff and i overspent way beyond what I expected :( but its really great to shop with my baby sis because she's such a great company :) and of course because she was very accomodating towards me the whole time..

Now, its back to reality..back to the not-so-boring life with baby and my family..i really missed them even though im just a few days away from home..and back to this office where everyone wears a mask..the getaway was good partly because i had a break from the hypocrisy at work..because i could let my guard down and just be myself, laugh and talk nonsense..

im sorry i didnt buy everyone gifts..i was quite broke at the end of the trip and i came back to Singapore with 3baht and 4sgd..

Shall i start planning for another trip soon?

I seemed to disappear for so long..but honestly, i dont wanna lose track of my life..i love to read back on my entries and think about my happy times..and so..this is what i did over the last 1-2 months..

WILD HONEY

Breakfast with love ♥

we ordered English Breakfast because I am so in love with the mushrooms and bacon..the bacon are a lil oily, but i like it this way actually..heehee..the apple crumble was good too!

Went shopping around Orchard :)

i love the bigass Melody!

and one more thing, i love wearing coloured contact lens..it enlarges your eyes, you can pick your eye colour and it enhances your facial features too..i dunno why, but i just feel so..i dun even need fake eye lashes sometimes..eye liner + colour contact lens is enough to look pretty for a day-out..

NANDOS @ Bugis

met the duo for dinner at Bugis..we went Bugis Village for some shopping before Ben came to meet us..i saw lots of accessories that caught my eye and got pretty hyped up..kept wanting to go BKK..

it was my 2nd time at Nando..the first time, i had to queue for 45mins :( but the food was worth the wait..and this time baby helped to queue while me and Angela went shopping..but the queue that friday wasnt short either..

wanted to queue for KOI..but who noes it ran out of pearls..super disappointed! Head over to Ben's house to play MONOPOLY DEAL till wee hours of the night..SHIOK!

Seafood At Malaysia

after rounds of failed trips, we finally managed to go Pengarang for Seafood...we tried to leave house earlier at 9.30am..but still, we only arrived slightly after 1pm because there was a long queue for the boat ride..next time, might as well stay there for a night...staying over means no rush, more time to eat and pasar malam..haha

i look totally like auntie..but heck, no one knows me there..

we'll always have lots of coconuts and lime juice whenever we are there...the lime juice is super niceeee

and not forgetting the lobster and crabs..we had 3 crabs, chilli crab, salted egg crab, butter crabs :) :)

not forgetting the horfun and beancurd and cereal prawns and more!

we rushed back to catch the last boat ride and i really hate tt feeling..cant enjoy the lunch and slowly walk..but we sat outside on the boat ride back to sg..and it was pretty shiok..

WanZhen's 25th Birthday

Wei Ting prepared a surprise for the birthday ma ma on the Saturday before her actual birthday..so boyfriend and me brought along sushi and some other meat from Cold Storge while the rest brought other stuff..

Birthday Girl was surprised to see us there..but i believe she was happy..anyone would be happy to have such a cute birthday cake lah :)

Jayden is cute as usual and he kept holding on to his cupcake and refused to let go..heehee..

and he has a new car car..i tried to sit in it..but hmm cant fit..

Baby's 26th Birthday

We had an enjoyable dinner at Gyu Kaku @ UE Square :)

We both couldnt take time off for a big celebration..very busy with work lately..so we made the best of watever time we had and i came up with Gyu Kaku because he is a big fan of BEEF..he loves it and he kept exclaiming that the beef slices/cubes melts in his mouth and it super shiok..silly boy..

since it is an Japanese BBQ restaurant, we had to BBQ the food..i chose the Seafood platter instead and we had shitake mushrooms and this stone rice to share with..

Thumbs up for the service and dining experience..and i think air-conditioned seats are a must because you the heat from the burning charcoal can be quite a turn off at times..

INTERVIEW

yesterday was a total mad rush for me..

8am: studied about the various funds DBS asset management co offers
9.15am: left house for the clinic (told doctor i needed an mc)
10am: breakfast at wcp mcdonalds
11.15am: meet Angela to get suit
11.30am: to Great World City to buy my suit
1pm: Back Home to prepare for interview
3pm: Wash up, bun my hair, make up
4pm: Pack stuff head out..
4.45pm: found out that i do not have the keys to lock the house..Grandpa came to my rescue
5.45pm: Start of the interview..

the interview wasnt easy..1. i have no clue to the finance markets, i do not have banking knowledge..2. honestly, i have not been to a formal interview..the interview for my current job was simply a breeze..3.i was nervous and overloaded with information

Conclusion, i dont have good news to share..not entirely bad news because the VP has been encouraging me to be persistent and continue contacting the SVP..he felt that i have the values he is looking for..but his boss feels that i lack one personality trait, and that is, TOUGHNESS..he gave me 2 options to go from here: 1. to give up...2. to be persistent, email the SVP my artwork, pester him..this is something they want to see in me in order to land myself a job in the banking industry..

im feel stressed and lost..i really dunno if this is what i want..a job which pays more but i dun see myself developing passion in it..or to stick with the current job where my bosses recognised my work and efforts and praise me for it..where they leave the whole NR marketing team in my care and give me space to grow..but be stuck with this sad salary..

but i learned a great deal these two days..i really value the opportunity to enter the banking sector and this is all thanks to Angela..the interview with the SVP and VP did widen my perspective and allowed me to reflect what are my strengths and weakness..and of course, i learned how supportive and encouraging my friends are..Elaine and Kelley (hmm..plus kelley's bf haha) who prepared me for the interview!! you cant imagine how much help they have given me and how silly and stupid i sounded in front of them..and Angela who answered my endless phonecalls and give me your opinions..thanks alot..and my dear BOYFRIEND who drove me all over to help to prepare myself..

i love you all man!! and yeewah, yay im gonnna be stuck with you!! :) :)

time to read more and gain more knowledge..im gonna start job hunting very soon again..but this time with more confidence and preparation!!

we had lotsa food to share..we ate till our stomachs almost burst! anyway, here's fiesta lime chicken, mini cheese hamburgers, morzerella sticks (i love it!!), dynamite prawns (freaking good too!!) and we had 2 FULL rack of ribs..sweet & spicy and the Applebees BBQ ribs..pretty good too..

took a million photos until someone complained abt us..haha! but a 'good hair day' is not easy to come by and i love the floral corset top i was wearing..sis's had 3 corset tops and all of them look so awesome i wanted to wear all of them out!

shopped a little but bought nothing..im really trying SUPER hard to save money cos my expenses are high..plus i wanna go for holiday (adding on to the expenses)..so we got a drink and sat at Cineleisure while waiting for sis and bf to come meet us..

and baby got me a mini melody and placed it beside my makeup mirror one day..he said its to make up to me for having to go on endless outfields and leaving me alone..its really cute and i was pretty contented..but the next morning when i took his car..i saw another surprise for me..another melody (its so FLUFFY!) which is to replace my poor pooh bear which has gone missing all thanks to his camp mates..damn it! my pooh bear is freaking cute and they lost it when they took baby's car out..

Wasabi Tei with Babyboy

I really need to eat the grilled cod fish like every 3-4 weeks..its so succulent and tasty i will crave for it time to time..probably its because its really affordable..only $18 for a set of grilled cod fish + rice + appetizer + fruits..moreover there is no GST!

he ordered Sashimi Sushi set this time..and there were a variety of sashimi in relatively generous portion..

went shopping before we head to Tiong Bahru for an impromptu movie, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice..thank god Golden village doesnt have screening problems again..

Changing Appetites

my first time there was with the same couple like 3 years back after Ben's car competition..we wanted to try Sukiyaki but the queue was very long..so we settled for Changing Appetites..verdict is, they serve better desserts than main course..the ribs and spaghetti was little less than average..

after the very very full dinner..we walked around before catching the movie SALT..better movie than i expected! and after that we head over Marina Sands..because im such a turtle i haven been there too..before reaching the Helix Bridge..you'll definitely pass by the floating platform and tt night..they were rehearsing for the YOG opening..

poor thing..its alr 12plus in the night and the kids still had to be there and not go home..on a separate note, the night view was pretty and the laser light shooting from the surrounding buildings were beautiful..it immediately reminded me of the lighting show at Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui..
